As tornado season heats up around the Midwest, one thing is sure:

as soon as even the tiniest of hail hits the ground, the door-to-door roof salesmen appear.

They knock on your door, and offer to do a roof inspection.

Maybe they are legitimate... Probably not.

How do you know?

Local TV news station KAKE recently did a story on the phenomenon, with some tips on avoiding predators and what to look for on your own to tell if your roof may be damaged.

Click the button below to watch the story, and if someone comes a-knockin', remember that it always pays to choose local, well-known and respected contractors to do large projects on your home.
